Love Lost To The Wind

I hold it true, whate'er befall;
I feel it, when I sorrow most;
'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
From Alfred Lord Tennyson's poem In Memoriam:27, 1850

If you've ever opened your heart to another human being and truly loved them, they'll always hold a unique place in your heart, no matter what terms things ended on. You may have moved on with your life and loved again, but you will never forget and you will always miss that one who held your heart in their hands. And even if you're in a new relationship, there is nothing wrong with that. Memories mold us into who we are, because those experiences helped shape your life. So cling tight to your memories, but love the one your with, while you drift back to the ones that got away with this song by Corey Smith, When The Sun Goes Down In Georgia:

My Mom Is On Facebook

I love my mother. She's a beautiful, wonderful woman who has always done what she can to make my life better. But, like so many of ya'll, my mom is on Facebook. That may seem like no big deal, but because of that, I have to watch some of the things I say and pictures I post. Well, at least that use to be the case, until I bought the Damn it, My Mom Is On Facebook Filter:

Man, I need some new dungarees.

Funny Monday

I came across this pic over at The Chive this morning, and it had me in tears. It's a reference to this classic video from SNL featuring Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake:

"Over at ya parent's house a dick in a box!" That is easily by far one of the funniest videos ever. However, the follow up video was even better to me.

"They're gonna have to rename this one, all up under the covers day!" Hope that gets ya'lls Monday started with some laughs.

Crazy Beautiful

No doubt exists that all women are crazy; it's only a question of degree. ~ W.C. Fields

Let's face it, all women have snakes in the head, but some snakes are more poisonous than others. The key is finding one that is more Angelina Jolie on the Hot/Crazy scale, instead of Lady Gaga. For those of you not familiar with this scale, here ya go:

Don't get it twisted, I'm not putting women down. Hell, I know I'm crazy. I need a woman who's a little wild and crazy, just at the appropriate time. For example, crazy usually equals amazing sex. We all have our issues, but some women abuse the privilege. I'm just ready to find that woman who is my kinda crazy:

I love ya ladies...

Update, Can't believe I left this one out, but thanks to one of my readers, here it is by request:

Who Needs A Guard Dog?

Certainly not these people. I'm more of a dog person myself, but this video will get you thinking. How would your pitbull do against an alligator? This game of cat and gator does not turn out how you would expect.

That cat doesn't take shit off anyone. The Kentucky Wildcats should watch this in film study before playing Florida next year.

America's Guardian Angels

When our perils are past, shall our gratitude sleep?            ~George Canning

The day after I celebrated my Marine Corps birthday, I turn to salute all Veterans of the Armed Services. America truly is the home of the free, because of the brave. From one Veteran to another, Semper Fidelis, because ya'll have made and continue to make the ultimate sacrifice so Americans can sleep peacefully. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will always be my brothers.

In the beginning of a change, the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned.  When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.  ~Mark Twain

Happy 235th Birthday!

"Some people wonder all their lives if they've made a difference. The Marines don't have that problem."- Ronald Reagan

November 10, 1775. The United States Marine Corps was born in Tun Tavern Philadelphia. Every day since they have been the deadliest fighting force known to man. Before we even had a country, we had Marines.

"People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf." - George Orwell

July 23, 1999. A young man ran off a bus and stepped onto a set of yellow footprints at Parris Island, South Carolina. As he was being officially introduced to the island by an irate Drill Instructor, he realized his life would never be the same. I was that young man, and I would spend the next three months being molded into a United States Marine. It will forever be the best decision I ever made.

Platoon 3092
I only served four years in my beloved Corps, but I will always be a Marine. On this day, the 235th Birthday of the USMC, join me in paying the much deserved respect to all Marines, past, present, and future. Semper Fidelis Devil Dogs, this Marine salutes you!

“The Marines I have seen around the world have the cleanest bodies, the filthiest minds, the highest morale, and the lowest morals of any group of animals I have ever seen. Thank God for the United States Marine Corps!”- Eleanor Roosevelt

Just When You Thought He Was Gone...

Well, I heard George W. Bush was gonna be on Oprah today. I know ya'll missed the hell outta him, because it has nothing to do with whether you loved or hated him, it's because the guy was quality entertainment. Dubya had the lowest Presidential approval rating in history, but a lot of people don't like to mention that he also had the highest ever. I'm not a very political person, but that's got to count for something. Either way, I'm sure people on both sides of the fence will enjoy these clips:

Looks That Kill

Fellas, ya'll all know girls like this... drop dead gorgeous. She's got it, she knows it, and you want her. Thank God for women like this. Just a glimpse of their smile can make your day, and a taste of their kiss can change your life. If you're lucky enough to get either, count yourself among the saints. This goes out to my girls Ashley and Brooke, ya'll know You Be Killin' Em!!!

"Often imitated, never duplicated
They say she a dime, I say she underrated"

Keep Killin' Em Ladies! Ya'll make the world go round.

Yall know what time it is. Here's what yall been waitin' for all day, your Friday Night Jam on SFB. This song is a classic and one of the best songs ever to start the night off right. It's my best friend GP's favorite jam and me and him have sipped many a drink as we got ready to do it big on the town to this very tune. So lift ya glass to a good night, sit back, and relax to Youngbloodz 85:

"I know you're waitin for daddy, it won't be long shawty
Be patient cause I'm comin to you
Ridin dirty on 85, slow, takin it easy

My Life, My Music, This Is Who I Am

‎"Music does bring people together. It allows us to experience the same emotions. People everywhere are the same in heart and spirit. No matter what language we speak, what color we are, the form of our politics or the expression of our love and our faith, music proves: We are the same." ~John Denver

I saw the quote above today, and I loved it. I always found that in the military and life in general, I was always able to fit in and relate to almost anyone through my love of music. Music bridges gaps that no politician ever could. In Trace Adkins' song Songs About Me, he talks about a fella coming to one of his shows, and even though he isn't much on country music, he realizes that the songs speak on who he is as a person. I think anyone who is in tune with who they are has a few songs that they feel describe them as a person. With me they come from all genres. I could make the list a mile long, because I'm a very diverse person. But if I wanted to show a complete stranger who I was through music, here are a few that would scratch the surface. Enjoy this sneak peak into my soul:

Diverse enough for ya? Well, I could go on all day with this... I guess yall have gotten to see enough of who I am. I hope yall keep coming back for more. What songs tell your life story? And the beat goes on...
